Woman, 32, killed in 4-wheeler crash

A 32-year-old woman lost her life Saturday afternoon when she was thrown from a 4-wheeler and suffered a head injury.

April Haslam of Murfreesboro was killed in the accident which happened around 2:15 p.m. in the Viola area.

According to the Warren County Sheriff’s Department, Haslam was riding on the back of a 4-wheeler being driven by her uncle. It was a family gathering and people were taking turns riding in a field off Marcrom Road, a side street not far from downtown Viola.

The accident report states the 4-wheeler hit a dip in the field, causing the driver to lose control. The 4-wheeler overturned, throwing both occupants off. Haslam sustained severe head trauma from the crash causing her death. She was not wearing a helmet.

Funeral service was Tuesday at Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home in Murfreesboro. Haslam is survived by a husband and two children.
