During Thursday night’s School Board meeting, Medora Willmore, right, was honored as Volunteer of the Month. The award is presented by Morrison Elementary third-grade teacher Christy Farless.

Morrison Elementary volunteer Medora Willmore has been named Warren County School System’s Volunteer of the Month.

Willmore was nominated by Morrison Elementary third-grade teacher Christy Farless.

“Medora gives a great deal of her time and wisdom to help all the teachers at Morrison Elementary School,” said Farless. “Last school year, she came to Morrison on numerous occasions to help the English language arts (ELA) teachers score the writing assessments. She provides ample advice for the teachers during the scoring process.”

According to Farless, Medora volunteers every Wednesday helping both students and teachers.

Added Farless, “Specifically, she helps teachers to focus on implementing writing strategies to help their students succeed in writing. She also works with students who need extra support and all the ELA teachers at Morrison thoroughly enjoy working with Medora.”

“I would just like to say that Morrison is a great place to be,” said Willmore after accepting the certificate.

The award was given for October.
