Chloe Hillis, left, and Jessica Delong perform during last years Dancing with our Stars. The event has been moved to the Park Theater this year and people are being sought to participate as dancers.

Warren County Commissioner Michael Shane Wilcher has challenged other elected officials to dance for charity.
“On Nov. 5, Warren County’s Dancing with our Stars will be held at Park Theater to benefit Relay for Life. I will be dancing in the event and I challenge every elected official of Warren County to sign up and dance as well,” said Wilcher.
The dare was made during Monday night’s full Warren County Commission meeting. And, according to Wilcher, the challenge extends to city officials and those at the state level.
Warren County’s Dancing with our Stars competition features local celebrities, business men and women, and other notable citizens performing dance routines taught to them in the weeks leading up to the event. None of the participants are required to be professional dancers, but all are dedicated to learning and performing the dance numbers to the best of their abilities in support of Warren County Relay for Life.
Audience members vote for their favorite dance routine/ couple and the couple with the most votes wins the title of Dancing with our Stars’ People’s Choice Champion. All participants work to raise money leading up to the event and the team that raises the most money will win the award of Grand Champion for fundraising.
In addition to the dance entertainment, a live auction is held that night. Wilcher asked officials to donate items for auction if they do not want to dance.
“If you choose not to dance, I would ask that you support me and my partner by sponsoring Team Wilcher/ Pierce and donating auction items,” said Wilcher.
Dancing with our Stars is a fundraiser for Relay for Life and organizers are currently looking for dancers. Registration can be made online at curtistown.com or by calling Elaine Lawson at 931-581-6113.
