Where's Elvis?
Stop the press! Elvis is in the Southern Standard pressroom with hard-working Kevin Grizzle. To strum up excitement about our Customer Appreciation Day this Friday, the Standard is offering a Where’s Elvis Contest.

Elvis is not only in the building, he’s all around Warren County.

To create excitement for our Customer Appreciation Day this Friday, the Southern Standard has a Where’s Elvis Contest inside today’s edition.

Newspaper employees have taken a life-sized cardboard Elvis figure around to 40 local businesses. The challenge is to identify the business where Elvis is located.

“Some of the pictures are easier to identify than others,” said Standard publisher Patricia Zechman. “But there are some of our business owners who really wanted to make it difficult and that adds to the fun.”

Names of the participating businesses are listed at the bottom of the two-page spread on 4B and 5B. Process of elimination may be your best bet if you get it narrowed down to a few businesses at the end.

The person with the most correct answers is the winner. In the event more than one person gets all 40 businesses identified correctly, winners will be drawn at random from all those with a perfect score of 40.

First place is a microwave. Other prizes include a six-month Standard subscription and Elvis collectibles.

An Elvis impersonator will be at the newspaper office at 105 College Street this Friday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Free hotdogs and refreshments will be served. Discount subscriptions will be available all day long.

Entries in the Where’s Elvis contest can be submitted at the newspaper office until Friday at 2 p.m.
