WCMS offering free holiday meal

For those in need of a Christmas meal, the faculty and staff at Warren County Middle School wants to help.
School officials will be collecting names this week for people in need of a holiday meal to be delivered Friday, Dec. 23.
“We see first-hand how we have some needy families in our community,” said WCMS principal Gerald Tidwell. “This is something we’re doing to try and help. All our staff will be participating. We’ll start delivering meals that morning and hope to have them all delivered by lunch.”
Tidwell says WCMS has about 100 staff members. Through their donations, they are generating money to buy a full course holiday meal that’s catered by Medley’s Diner. School employees will be making the plates and the deliveries.
“We need people to sign up before school lets out,” said Tidwell, who indicated the last day before Christmas break is this Friday, Dec. 16.
The WCMS phone number is 473-6557. If you can’t call that number before Dec. 16, food requests will be accepted Dec. 17-20 by calling 259-0034.
