Warren County High School National Honor Society held a fundraiser for McMinnville Special Games and was able to raise $1,075.
McMinnville Special Games Co-Founder and President Holly McBride went to WCHS last Friday morning and accepted the generous donation.
“We did a fundraiser in order to raise some funds and give back to the special needs community,” said club treasurer Evan Womack.
NHS has been working with McMinnville Special Games for the last four years and have included it as a mandatory service requirement.
“Each year we are required to do 20 service hours and five of those hours have to be devoted to the special needs community. It is always nice just to give back,” said Womack.
The club is always happy to do what they can to give back to the special needs community.
“It is nice to be able to give back and be a part of the community and show we do care because I don’t feel like that is shown enough,” said club secretary Mary Grace Martin.
Each member worked hard raising funds and club president Ella Colvard is proud of her fellow club members for stepping up and raising a significant amount of money.
“I am really proud of everyone,” said Colvard.
NHS member Savannah Yates raised the most funds and received a $25 Amazon gift card for her work.
McBride is thankful for the club’s willingness to help McMinnville Special Games over the years. NHS members will also be helping with the McMinnville Special Games food booth at the upcoming Warren County A&L Fair.
