A Walmart employee faces grand theft charges after she was caught on camera stealing money from the cash drawer.The employee, Dakota L. McGowen, 24, has been charged with theft over $1,000 and will appear before General Sessions Court Bill Locke for arraignment this Tuesday.She is charged after Walmart loss prevention discovered she was taking money from the cash drawer.“She was taking $100 in cash each time she took money,” said Greg Pescevic of Walmart, noting she started the thefts sometime in early May of this year.McGowen allegedly admitted to stealing the money. “She stated she had taken up to $1,000 cash that she had spent.”Walmart security was able to provide police with a surveillance video of McGowen which led to her arrest May 30.
