The deadline to submit veterans for a 2017 Exchange Club calendar is next Wednesday.

McMinnville’s Noon Exchange Club is looking for veterans to feature in its upcoming 2017 Salute to Veterans Calendar. The calendar will recognize local veterans and will raise funds for some of the club’s charitable work.
“The proceeds from calendar sales and sponsorships will provide monetary support for several of Noon Exchange Club’s projects, most notably Veterans Matter, which is a National Exchange Club initiative which helps veterans obtain housing for themselves and their families,” said Noon Exchange board member Shelly Miller.
Nomination applications are available from all Noon Exchange Club members at Ashley’s Attic at Plaza Shopping Center and at the Security Federal Savings Bank locations on West Main Street and on Smithville Highway. Noon Exchange Club will also have applications at its Autumn Street Fair booth near the courthouse this Saturday.
The deadline to submit applications is fast approaching. All applications should be submitted to Noon Exchange by Wednesday, Oct 5.
The calendar will feature at least 13 local veterans and the chosen veterans will be determined by an online vote after all nominations are submitted. Miller Photography will photograph each veteran for the calendar.
Sponsors are also being sought for the calendar.
“Your business, church or organization can sponsor an entire month for $250. Month sponsorships are being sold on a first-come, first-serve basis and we have already sold a few,” said Miller, “Smaller sponsorships are also available in the amounts of $75 and $30. All sponsorships come with an ad in the calendar and free calendars.”
Those interested in nominating a veteran or sponsoring the calendar are encouraged to speak with any member of Noon Exchange Club, to call 931-607-6599 or to visit Noon Exchange Club of McMinnville on Facebook for more information.
“This is a great way to honor our veterans and at the same time help our community,” said Exchange district director Duane Sherrill, “We are planning to have the calendars available for purchase at our Veterans Day program on Friday, Nov. 11 at the Park Theater. We also have plans for a special signing featuring the calendar veterans at Topz immediately preceding the Veterans Day event.”
