Van Buren car show Saturday

Cars, crafts and kettle corn will all be in abundance this Saturday at the Van Buren County Fairgrounds in Spencer.

The second annual Cruisin’ the Midway Car and Bike Show will be an all-day affair with a full schedule of activities, including music, a DJ, and cornhole tournament.

“I noticed that your Autumn Street Fair in McMinnville has been canceled,” said organizer Shawn Roberts, who grew up in Centertown. “We’ll be happy to have any Autumn Street Fair vendors come up to our show. We’ll take any and all of them. We’re hoping for a big turnout.”

Roberts said he’s expecting more than 200 cars, trucks and motorcycles to participate in the car show. Registration is Saturday morning from 9 to 11 a.m. with judging scheduled to start at noon. The trophy presentation is set for 4 p.m.

Roberts said well-known Warren County vendors have indicated they will be in attendance. This includes Randy Glenn of Bad Boys BBQ and Jimmy Taylor with his kettle corn.

If you’re a food vendor who would like to reserve a booth, the cost is $50. For other vendors, the cost is $25. The cost to register a car, truck or motorcycle is $20. Trophies will be awarded for first, second and third places in 13 classes.

The event is a fundraiser for next year’s Van Buren County Fair. This year’s fair was canceled.
