Two men who tried to rob a man while he was out doing yard work in front of his house have been sentenced to prison.
Charles Robert Fults Jr., 21, of McMinnville was ordered to serve five years in the state penitentiary for attempted aggravated robbery. His term will run at the same time as a sentence in Warren County.
Logan Tyler Martin, 22, had already been sentenced for his part in the attempted crime. He is serving a five-year sentence in the state penitentiary. Like his co-defendant, he is serving his time along with time he owes in Warren County. Both men are under restraining orders when they get out that bars them from going around the victim.
The incident that sent them to prison happened in April 2016 when they pulled up at a home on McMinnville Highway where a man was doing yard work. The investigation revealed Fults got out of the vehicle and pulled a knife on the man and demanded his wallet.
The victim refused to comply, prompting Fults to back down and return to the vehicle with Martin and flee the scene. They were pulled over in Warren County a short time later and arrested.
