Two people were hospitalized Monday night following a violent home invasion robbery on Hannah Street.
Among the items taken at gunpoint were a pit bull dog and a gold grill mouthpiece.
“This was not a random house that was picked by robbers,” said McMinnville Police Det. Sgt. Eddie Colwell. “We don’t want residents to think there are people going around town and randomly kicking in doors. That is not the case.”
According to McMinnville Police, the armed robbery happened Monday at approximately 9:25 p.m. at 115 Hannah Street, a residential street which runs off Red Road and is a block away from Pace Street. The area is known as the Bel Air community.
“Three to four black male subjects with guns wearing dark clothing robbed the tenant, Rodrick Cook, and assaulted three of his friends,” said McMinnville Police in a press release.
“During the investigation, a person of interest has been identified. The investigation revealed the residence and Mr. Cook were the targets.”
Cook was treated at Ascension Saint Thomas River Park while one of his friends, a male, was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville.
No arrests had been made as of press time.
Among items taken were a brown pit bull named Hybrid, cash, a cellphone, a gold grill mouthpiece, and other items.
