Turnout light for day one of early voting
Circuit Court Clerk
From left, Duane Sherrill, Casi Powell Cantrell and Melanie Milstead, the three Democratic candidates for Circuit Court Clerk, wave their signs in hopes of encouraging voters during the first day of early voting on Wednesday.
If the first day of early voting is any indication, voters won’t have to worry about waiting in line. There were 242 people who voted on Wednesday, the first day of early voting. That translates to almost 27 voters an hour over the nine-hour span. Absentee ballots are added into first-day totals to bring the number to 332 votes cast on day one.
