Election officials are advising voters to keep their comments to themselves when they visit the polls for early voting.“We don’t want any comments being made inside the polling place,” said election administrator Donna Smith regarding political campaigning or politically charged talk. “They need to keep their thoughts to themselves at the polls.”Smith said the rule will be strictly enforced inside the polling places as to avoid any incidents during early voting or Election Day. Smith said she expects a “huge turnout” for this election since there is a heavily contested presidential race, not to mention several state and local races, and referendums on package liquor and wine in grocery stores – the latter being only for city of McMinnville voters.Early voting begins Wednesday, Oct. 19, in the early voting room of the county government building on Locust Street.
