Trash trailer chase ends in three arrests
Police lights

A faulty brake light on a trailer led to three people getting arrested Friday afternoon and trash being strewn all over Manchester Highway.

Jonathan Davis, 27, Randy Davis, 29, and Sherrilyn Davis, 50, were all arrested at 306 Harvest Farm Lake Road after a car chase that reached reported speeds of 75 mph.

According to the arrest warrant, Jonathan Davis was driving a Kia SUV that was pulling a trailer and carrying a load of trash. A traffic stop was initiated on Herrin Road when it was noticed the brake light on the driver’s side of the trailer was not functioning properly.

The Kia initially stopped but fled at a high rate of speed when deputies Jared Jacobs and Brystol Davis approached. The vehicle headed toward Smartt Station and eventually made its way to Manchester Highway going outbound.

“The vehicle disregarded numerous traffic laws throughout and placed the two passengers in the vehicle, along with the public, in danger throughout the pursuit,” the arrest warrant states. “The pursuit ended in the yard of 306 Harvest Farm Lake Road.”

Jonathan Davis said he fled because he had numerous felony warrants out of other jurisdictions. His passenger, Randy Davis, was also arrested on felony warrants out of numerous jurisdictions. In addition, Jonathan was charged with evading arrest with risk to others.

Sherrilyn Davis was arrested for disorderly conduct. She lives at the 306 Harvest Farm Lake Road and came out as they were taking the two males in custody and tried to interfere.

The 911 center received calls about debris in the roadway following the chase from trash that flew from the trailer while it was fleeing.
