Researchers converged on Warren County in 2015 to study the bat migration. Pictured is TWRA biologist Dustin Thames attaching a transmitter to an Indiana bat.
An environmental study on the installation of flashing lights at the intersection of Highway 70S and Rock Island Road is driving people batty. The safety project is scheduled for a June 22, 2018 construction letting, if the measure passes an environmental review that determines the flashing lights will not affect bats. “I personally don’t care about what it will do to bats, as compared to people,” said Warren County Commissioner Blaine Wilcher.
