Three people were airlifted from the scene of an early morning crash on Smithville Highway Tuesday.According to Highway Patrol Sgt. Jeremy Austin, the wreck happened just after midnight on Highway 56 north of McMinnville. Preliminary reports reveal Samantha Stevens, 37, was heading northbound on Smithville Highway in her Hyundai Sonata while Halinda Salkic, 41, was heading southbound, toward town, in her Toyota Camry. The vehicles collided head-on in the northbound lane.
