Test your wits at trivia night

You can test your wits and help the community all at the same time as Youth Leadership is sponsoring trivia night at Collins River BBQ this Tuesday night.
“The proceeds will go to the Kid’s Funfest that Youth Leadership will be sponsoring later this year,” said Youth Leadership member Emilie Blankenship of the event that will start at 6 p.m. at the downtown eatery.
Blankenship noted there will be a $2 entry fee for each contestant and groups can break up into teams of any size to compete in the mental battle. Cellphones will not be allowed out during the contest to ensure fair play. However, for those who want to tilt the playing field a bit, there will be “hint sheets” for sale on certain categories.
Blankenship said if the initial night is a success, she would like to do it again in the coming weeks. Volunteers with Youth Leadership, which is affiliated with the local Chamber of Commerce, will be serving as hosts and questioners.
Anyone wishing to play is encouraged to come a few minutes early to get a table upstairs. Eating from the Collins River menu during the contest is encouraged. The winning team will get a $25 gift card from Collins River.
