Standing water on the roadway is being blamed for a Tuesday morning crash where a car flipped end over end and injured a teenager.

Darien Linares, 19, was traveling inbound on Shelbyville Road when he hit standing water on the roadway, causing his car to hydroplane around 8:30 a.m. The accident took place near the Coffee County line.

The Manchester resident then lost control of the vehicle. It veered left, departed the roadway, and struck an embankment. The impact caused the car to go airborne, flip end over front, and land on its top.

Linares was transported from the scene by Warren County EMS and taken to Saint Thomas River Park Hospital for treatment. His condition was not released by medical responders.
