The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) has announced various road work projects to take place within Warren County.
According to a press release from TDOT, one of the projects involves SR-56 construction of bridges and paving south of the Warren-Dekalb County line to East Bryant St.
Jones Bros. Contractors is managing the work and will also be responsible for flagging operations throughout the rest of the project.
A new alignment is already available for motorists on SR-56. TDOT encourages caution at the intersections of SR-56 as well as all side roads affected by road work due to recent changes. Those driving old SR-56 should divert to South Tittsworth and the newly constructed Turner Road. Roadwork will continue near College Street and Douglas Road as well and the speed limit through the construction zone has been reduced to 45 mph. TDOT cautions drivers to expect delays, watch out for flaggers and use caution while traveling through the work zone.
Some bridge repair and paving have also been announced which would affect areas east of Lincoln Lane in Cannon County to Robinson Road in Warren County. American Pavements, Inc. will be managing short-term lane closures and flagging operations throughout the remainder of the job.
Dement Construction Company, LLC will have intermittent lane closures and flaggers on SR380 and SR-1 as shoulder and sidewalk work proceeds. The right turn lane from Eastbound SR-1 towards SR-380 will be closed this week. Any motorists attempting to turn right from Eastbound Sr-1 towards SR-380 will have to continue to the traffic light to make a right turn there at the light. TDOT encourages motorists to expect delays, drive cautiously and be wary of flaggers on the road in all of the areas where work is taking place.
