Drug Bust Arrests

An undercover drug-buying operation that spanned several months has resulted in 25 arrests.

Warren County Sheriff’s Department and McMinnville Police Department coordinated a sweep of the county Thursday to nab the suspects as quickly as possible.

“We met up at about 7 a.m. Thursday morning,” said McMinnville Police Det. Tony Jenkins. “We held a debriefing and started the operation. We had the bulk of the individuals in custody by about 9:30 a.m. We wanted to get them before they could get up and start moving around.”

Warren County Sheriff’s Investigator Steven Carpenter says the roundup went smoothly.

“Most of 25 lived within a few blocks of each other,” said Carpenter. “That made it easier to pick them all up quickly. Tony and I worked on these cases together. We employed several confidential informants. Purchased were heroin, cocaine, crack cocaine, methamphetamine, LSD, mushrooms and pills.”

The drug-buying operation, which included assistance from the District Attorney General’s Office, used undercover operatives to purchase drugs from the suspects from mid-2019 thru January 2020. The drug deals were recorded by law enforcement officials who will use the recordings as evidence should the cases go to trial.
