A damaged exterior wall at McMinnville City Hall could be on the mend.
City administrator Bill Brock says a suggestion made during a prior Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting to contact Rachel Killebrew proved beneficial.
“During the last meeting, we were talking about the damage to City Hall,” said Brock in an update to the board. “I did contact Ms. Killebrew and she helped out quite a bit. We had a long conversation on different subjects. I did contact a company out of Nashville.”
A representative from Wescon Masonry will be looking at the building. It was damaged in December during a motor vehicle accident. Due to the age of the building and the rarity of the material, repairs have not been made.
“I sent him pictures of the building, the sizes of the rock and what we needed done,” said Brock. “He felt like it was something they could provide, but he wanted to come down and look at it before he gives us a price on it. Maybe we can finally get something done on that.”
If stone cannot be found, Brock recommended taking slabs from a less visible area and using those to make repairs. The damage is to the corner of the building and highly visible.
