A man who used a handgun to steal two cellphones has been ordered to serve 180 days in jail.
Brandon J. Solomon, 35, received a four-year sentence from Judge Bart Stanley in Circuit Court with 180 days to be served behind bars. Solomon entered guilty pleas to charges of aggravated robbery and aggravated assault.
The incident in question happened in January when a man and woman picked up Solomon near Chicken Chef. The arrest warrant said they gave Solomon a ride because it was raining.
They drove a short distance to Hobson Street and dropped off Solomon at his home. As Solomon was leaving the vehicle, he brandished a semi-automatic pistol and demanded the man and woman to hand over their cellphones. They complied.
Solomon then ordered the two to leave. However, law enforcement didn’t have a difficult time locating him since he had the victims take him to his house.
