Speed is being cited as the cause for a Sunday motorcycle crash that seriously injured a McMinnville resident.
Keith Glimpse, 57, was airlifted to Vanderbilt Medical Center for treatment after losing control of the motorcycle he was operating on Willow Way. He left the roadway, struck a mailbox, and slid close to 100 feet.
According to Warren County Sheriff’s Department, Glimpse was traveling a curvy section of Willow Way at a high rate of speed.
“Mr. Glimpse was riding a Harley-Davidson traveling at a high rate of speed and was unable to negotiate a curve,” said Warren County Sheriff’s Department Major Jason Walker. “He lost control and slid close to 100 feet, from the skid marks.”
Glimpse was traveling toward Red Road and struck the mailbox at 580 Willow Way. Both motorcycle and driver came to rest in a yard just off the roadway.
The extent of his injuries caused by the crash are unknown.
Citations are pending, says Walker.
