A man who violated an order of protection and got into a jailhouse fight has been ordered to serve a combined 220 days in jail.

Vondale Eugene Solomon, 30, was handed the sentence last week in General Sessions Court. He entered guilty pleas to charges of assault, violating an order of protection, and violation of probation.

Solomon was charged with violating an order of protection on July 13 when he went to a home on Gay Street in McMinnville. Solomon reportedly knocked on the door. A person inside went to the door and asked who it was.

“The male outside stated it was Vondale and he needed to use the bathroom and charge his phone,” the arrest warrant states. “No one opened the door and Mr. Solomon left the porch, walking down the street.”

The owner of the Gay Street home has an order of protection against Solomon.

About a month later, Solomon got into a fight in D Pod of the Warren County Jail with Jeffery Johnson.

“Sgt. Matt Brown viewed the video footage and determined that both individuals willingly participated in the assault against each other,” the warrant states.

Solomon has a history of encounters with law enforcement dating back to 2012, according to Southern Standard records.
