Paxton Smith made this playground fun again. After completing the renovation project, he was awarded the distinction as Eagle Scout, the highest rank a Boy Scout can attain.
Eagle Scout service projects provide a benefit to the community while instilling leadership qualities in the scouts who perform them.Paxton Smith, a member of Troop 309, decided to make a big difference in the lives of children attending Cornerstone Baptist Church by renovating its playground.“The playground was really rundown,” said Smith. “Renovating it was something that needed to be done. That’s where I went to church at the time so I decided to take that on as my project and run with it.”The rank of Eagle Scout is the highest rank the Boy Scouts of America awards to a scout.
