A popular event that showcases the beauty of historic downtown McMinnville has been postponed due to the threat of COVID-19.

Sip & Saveur: Tasting and Art Show was slated for April 18, but now its date is unknown.

“We feel that postponing the event is the responsible thing to do,” said Junior Auxiliary member Sarah Carr. “We hope to reschedule this event as soon as we can and that it will be better than ever. We can’t put an exact time on the rescheduled event, but our hope is to offer it later in the year.”

The event, which is JA’s primary fundraiser through ticket sales, is also a showcase for Main Street businesses, local artists and local caterers.

Participating downtown businesses are paired with artists or authors.

Visitors are provided access to the businesses and offered light food and a beverage. The popular event attracts approximately 300 visitors each year.

Live music is offered on Court Square beside the fountain to set a relaxing tone for the adult-only event.

Over the next several weeks, the Junior Auxiliary of McMinnville Facebook page will be promoting Sip & Saveur businesses and artists as a token of JA’s appreciation. The participating businesses and artists make the event possible year after year.
