A newly convicted sex offender could face time in prison after he was caught near the Jungle Jym in violation of his sex offender registry that bans him from visiting places where children frequent.The suspect, Ricky Lee Rogers, 19, has been charged with violation of the sexual offender registry. He faces a minimum of 90 days behind bars if he is found in violation of the registry and could get up to two years in prison for the Class E felony.Rogers was arrested when McMinnville Police Sgt. Paul Springer arrived at the Jungle Jym play area near the civic center.“I observed him in the back seat of a black Chevrolet parked near the Jungle Jym playground area,” Springer revealed. “During that time, there were several children under the age of 18 playing in the area.”The teen had just finished serving his original sentence this summer when he was issued a two-year sentence for statutory rape.
