It’s that time of year!
McMinnville Post Office is once again accepting Santa letters in its special Santa Claus mailbox placed in the front lobby. Children can send a letter and receive a response, as long as they are received in time by Jolly Ol' St. Nick.
In addition, the Southern Standard is continuing our tradition of accepting letters to Santa. They will be printed in the newspaper.
The McMinnville Post Office is helping with Operation Santa along with the U.S. Postal Service to help get children’s wish lists to the big man. Only Santa letters that include names and return addresses will be answered.
According to McMinnville Postmaster Brent Nunley, Santa letters are now being accepted. “Again, we will have the Letters to Santa box in the lobby,” said Nunley.
Letters can be sent directly to Santa by mailing them to the North Pole. Label the envelope with, “Santa Claus, 123 Elf Road, North Pole, 88888.” The recommended deadline from USPS to mail letters is Dec. 17.
Parents can even adopt a letter in their own state or a nearby state by registering at USPSOperationSanta.com.
The newspaper is currently accepting letters to Santa. They can be dropped off, emailed to lifestyles@southernstandard.com, or mailed to Letters to Santa, P.O. Box 150, McMinnville, TN 37111.
The deadline to assure publication in the newspaper is Dec. 14. While a deadline must be set, the Standard will make every attempt to publish all letters received. Please include first and last name.
