This month’s Second Saturday shopping extravaganza will have a holiday twist.
On this Saturday, Dec. 11, downtown McMinnville shops and restaurants will be staying open later. Since it is the holiday season, this month they will be having extra-festive activities for people to enjoy. Main Street McMinnville volunteer Mary Don Bixby says there will be free wagon/ carriage rides that night. Anyone looking to take a carriage ride can board in front of the Chamber of Commerce building.
Along with the carriage rides, there will be carolers and bands singing and playing music while everyone explores downtown shops. Treats are also available to purchase. Bixby says there will be kettle corn for sale by the fountain and roaster nuts will also be for sale on Main Street.
Main Street McMinnville is also holding the Holiday Tour of Downtown this Saturday. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased that night. The tour will consist of five downtown businesses/ residents.
Check in at the table in the parking lot at the corner of Spring Street and E. Main Street.
Pure Wealth Partners, Youngblood and Associates, and three private residences will be taking part in the behind-the-scenes tour. The tour will be from 4 to 6 p.m. so there will still be time to hit the shops staying open from 5 to 8 p.m.
“We at Main Street McMinnville think Dec. 11 will be the best Second Saturday ever. The city of McMinnville has provided a stunning backdrop for a celebration of downtown. We hope to see everyone there,” said Bixby.
