The holidays can be an especially emotional time for families who have lost a loved one to homicide.

To provide compassion and support, the District Attorney’s Office is presenting its annual Season to Remember. The program, now in its 12th year, will be held Monday, Nov. 26, at Park Theater. Start time is 6 p.m. Registration begins at 5:15 p.m. with refreshments.

Season to Remember was started by District Attorney General Lisa Zavogiannis as a means of support for people who have lost loved ones to homicide.

“The holidays can be especially hard,” said Zavogiannis, who noted providing support for the victim’s family is part of the duties of the District Attorney’s Office. Penny Medley is the victim witness coordinator for the office.

“This is a program that provides awareness to the public regarding the impact that homicides have on our community,” said Medley. “If your family has been touched by a homicide, either in our district or elsewhere, and you would like to participate, please let us know.”

Those who would like to participate are encouraged to call Medley at 473-9572 as soon as possible.
