Traffic in the area of Cleaners Express on N. Chancery Street came to a halt Thursday afternoon as McMinnville Police Department worked a two-vehicle crash at the intersection.
“The Chevrolet Trax, which was traveling on Clark Boulevard, either failed to stop at the intersection or stopped and pulled out in front of oncoming traffic,” said Police Lt. Bo Hutchins. “We are unsure at this point. There’s a language barrier with her husband that we are trying to work through.”
Driving that vehicle was Tiffany West, 35. Passengers were her husband and two minor children, ages 7 and 10. All four were transported to Ascension Saint Thomas River Park Hospital.
“I haven’t had a chance to talk to her (West),” said Hutchins. “Her husband said she didn’t yield the right of way. It appears that neither of the children were property restrained and no one was wearing seatbelts.”
A search warrant has been requested to ensure West wasn’t under the influence of prescription medication at the time of the accident due to comments made at the scene regarding the consumption of muscle relaxers, says Hutchins.
West pulled into the path of a white Nissan Versa driven by a 17-year-old female, whose name is being withheld because she is a juvenile. She was not transported for treatment.
All involved were Warren County residents. The accident occurred at 3 p.m.
