School-related issues were a hot topic during a recent legislative reception at WCHS.The event, in its third year, is organized by the Warren County Board of Education and provides a chance for school officials to meet with state senators and representatives to discuss items of interest in the upcoming legislative session. Specifically, these are any items that might impact public education in a positive or negative way. Among those in attendance were state Rep. Joe Pitts, state Rep. Paul Sherrell, executive director of Tennessee Organization of School Superintendents Dale Lynch, Director of Government Relations and Policy/Staff Attorney Tennessee School Boards Association Ben Torres, and numerous Warren County School Board members and school administrative staff.Pitts says Warren County Schools is faring well in an unfair game.
