The Rotary Club of McMinnville paused its luncheon program Thursday to remember the heroism and sacrifices of D-Day — June 6, 1944 — when some 160,000 Allied soldiers stormed the beaches of Normandy to begin prying Europe from the brutal grip of Nazi occupation.
