A McMinnville woman was injured Sunday morning in a rollover crash on Smithville Highway.

According to Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper Ben Cannon, Maria Reina Luna, 71, was traveling in the direction of Smithville.

“She was traveling outbound on Highway 56,” said Cannon. “It is unknown why she ran off the road on the left-hand side.”

The accident occurred at 10:45 a.m. on Smithville Highway at its intersection with Lowery Lane.

After leaving the highway, Luna’s 2014 Nissan Sentra crossed Lowery Lane and entered the property of McMinnville Mercantile. The vehicle rolled and came to rest on its side next to the building.

Luna was transported to Saint Thomas River Park Hospital with what was believed to be non-life-threatening injuries, including a possible broken arm.
