Currently, there are two TDOT projects under construction near Three Star Mall in McMinnville. Dement Construction Company LLC is doing work on a Warren County SR-1 (US-70S) and SR-380 intersection improvement and S.I.A. to Motlow Advanced Robotics intersection. The contract completion date was expected to be on or before Oct. 20 of this year, but the contractor submitted a letter just last week regarding some delayed signal items. They noted that it could be January 2024 before those are available. They will be working on improving the intersection in front of Three Star Mall (SR-380) and on SR-1. New traffic signals will also be installed in addition to the construction of a new road from SR-1 to Magness Drive. New sidewalks, crosswalks, paving and drainage are also on the way.  

The existing traffic pattern has SR-380 merging into SR-1, but once the project is finished, the merge will be permanently closed and SR-1 will be four lanes in that area. The current left lane from SR-1 West towards SR-380 will also be closed. Signs, message boards and arrow boards will be present during road work. TDOT urges drivers to use caution, watch for flaggers and expect delays through the work zone.

A resurfacing project is also taking place near the area on SR-1. The end of the Motlow SIA project is less than a mile from the beginning of the resurfacing project. Tinsley Asphalt will be doing resurfacing on Warren County SR-1 (US-70S) from east of Griffith Ln. (LM 14.8) to west of Mud Creek Road (LM 18.5) and on SR-288 from SR-1 (US-70S, LM 0) to near Collins River Dr (LM 4.8). The contract completion date is expected to be on or before Aug. 30. 

Daily closures of various crossovers and left turn lanes are expected and, as with the SIA project, TDOT urges drivers to take precautions, watch for flaggers and expect delays through the work zone.
