A local man faces felony assault and meth-making charges after he slammed into a man with his car after an altercation in Smithville and then fled the scene.The man, Marlin Ray Pinkard, 35, of McMinnville is charged with aggravated assault, evading arrest, manufacture of meth, and fifth-offense driving on a revoked license. He has a prior conviction here for trafficking meth and is still under eight-year probation for his sentencing last year.He is charged after he allegedly hit Johnny Murphy with his car after the two had an altercation at the victim’s Hayes Street residence in Smithville on Monday night. Authorities say Pinkard ran over the victim, causing a serious leg injury and then left the scene.
