Middle Tennessee Locally Grown Farmers Market, which currently serves Manchester and Tullahoma, is now expanding its services.

Patriot Market is the new Warren County division of which Stacey Lee, Michael Rains and Linda Reed are co-managers. The online marketplace offers consumers the opportunity to purchase fresh organic vegetables beyond the summer growing season with the use of greenhouses by area farmers.

In addition to fresh vegetables and herbs, grass-fed beef, and naturally raised pork and chicken will be offered. A selection of fresh baked goods from organic ingredients will be available along with farm-fresh eggs, local honey, and homemade jams and jellies.

Christmas wreaths, candles, soaps, lotions, and other seasonal crafts are ready for purchase as well.

“Grocery prices are rising and quality is down,” said Lee. “I think people are understanding the benefits of supporting our local farmers. I feel McMinnville is lacking in fresh fruit and vegetables, and we are excited about this service to provide that.”

Reed and Lee initiated the deliveries as a community service. There a one-time $10 membership fee and a 5% surcharge to offset web development costs. “Bartering is also being considered as a potential method of payment,” said Lee.

Weekly items available thru Patriot Market can be found at www.manchester.locallygrown.net. A user account is required and weekly items available are listed on Sunday beginning at 8 a.m. through Tuesday at 10 p.m. Purchases are then delivered to 110 Market Street, Martins Chapel Church, each Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
