Operation Christmas Child’s collection week came to an end Monday.

“Warren County’s total was 3,744,” said organizer Debbie Patterson, 656 short of this year’s goal. “This year was a success, even though our goal was not met. With all that is going on in the world we have accomplished more opportunities to spread the name of Jesus and fulfill the gospel.”

Patterson added, “In Matthew 28:19, it tells us to go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.”

The boxes collected locally were taken to Livingston. They will then be transported to Boone, N.C. Their final destination is unknown. Distribution is worldwide to more than 100 countries.

“A big thank you to James Perry for driving the truck for us and to Debby Young for all her many hours of helping me, and to all of you who always give me support and help. So many to list and I would not want to leave anyone out. Thank you and I love you. Many blessings to each of you.”

Operation Christmas Child is an outreach of Samaritan’s Purse.
