Main Street Live is about to Sail On for one more concert.
A Beach Boys tribute band called Sail On is scheduled to take the stage this Friday night, Aug. 16, for what will be the last act of this year’s series.
Visitors can expect some “Good Vibrations” at a concert that aims to be “Fun, Fun, Fun.” Sail On was scheduled to launch the Main Street Live series in June, but that show was postponed due to rain.
“I had several people ask me if we were going to reschedule them because there’s a definite interest in hearing this band,” said Main Street McMinnville executive director Katie Kemezis. “It’s a last chance to grab a little bit of summer and it’s free.”
Kemezis said there will be beach balls and Hawaiian leis to promote a beach party atmosphere. The concert will follow the traditional Main Street Live schedule with food vendors opening at 6 p.m. and the music beginning at 7 p.m. Main Street Live is held on the West Lawn of Security Federal on Main Street.
Sail On has a wide range of Beach Boys hits in its repertoire, including “Surfin’ Safari,” “California Girls,” “Help Me Rhonda,” “Little Deuce Coupe,” and “I Get Around.”
