Guests to Main Street on Saturday were able to indulge in a night of relaxing and socializing.

Sip and Saveur: Tasting and Art Showcase was offered by Junior Auxiliary as a fundraiser for its community-service activities.

“The weather was absolutely perfect and we couldn’t have asked for a better night,” said Amanda Collier, JA member. “We’ve gotten nothing but great feedback from all of our guests, participating businesses, and artists and we are all so grateful for the efforts of everyone involved, including our event sponsors. We would not have been able to have such a great outcome without everyone’s support.”

Pat Harbin and her daughter, Keely Screws, were among those offering positive responses.

“We are loving it,” said Pat.

Keely added, “It’s a wonderful event. The evening is lovely. You couldn’t have asked for better weather.”

They relaxed on a bench in between stops as they visited the 23 participating businesses with each offering beverages, wine and food samples.

Live jazz music was offered on Court Square. Performing was The Lund McVey Group and Nick Bouldin. On North Spring Street, musician Lanaé Hodge played guitar and sang. She was stationed outside Kimmi’s Tea Room.

Asya Craven and Jazlyn Lowery boosted the window display at Evelyn Taylor Avenue. During the event, the two replaced mannequins and offered a live alternative featuring clothing from the boutique.

The fundraiser generated over $7,000 members can use for their community-service events such as Christmas in the Park, Coats for the Community, Hopping into Health, Yankee Doodle Parade, and a college scholarship.
