New roof gets thumbs up

The new roof on McMinnville’s Water Treatment Plant on Cope Street has passed inspection. Payment for the additional cost was approved by the Board of Mayor and Aldermen.“Since Porter Roofing installed the new membrane roof system the Waste Water Treatment Plant has had no leaks,” said Water Department director Anthony Pelham. “The inspection was completed by Carlisle, which is the roofing system manufacturer, and it passed on first inspection.”Approved unanimously by McMinnville officials was $26,860, a negotiated amount for emergency material and labor repair.
