Saying a closer look should be taken regarding city facilities like the Civic Center and Blue Building, Terry Mullican has announced his candidacy for mayor.“McMinnville has many positive attributes that currently set it apart as a beautiful, safe, secure community in which to live,” Mullican said in making his announcement. “Compared to other cities our size, we as citizens of the city enjoy low taxes, low crime rates, good streets, excellent utilities and a vibrant downtown.”As mayor, Mullican said he will concentrate on those strengths and improve on them where possible.“As mayor, I will be careful not to lose sight that decisions need to be made with all citizens of McMinnville in mind, present and future. My goal would be to approach each challenge with an open mind, but never compromise on moral foundations that make our families and communities strong.”A McMinnville City High graduate with the class of 1969, Mullican earned his B.S. degree in physical education and recreation from MTSU in 1974.
