The Relay for Life team of Emma’s Mouse Cure-teers is holding a fundraiser this weekend.

The vendor event will take place at Three Star Mall on Saturday, Oct. 27, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with homemade items and direct sale products available from 25 different vendors.

“Our last one was in March and it was very successful,” said Holly Walker, event organizer. “The booth fee will be donated and each vendor will contribute one item from their booth which will go to Relay for Life’s auction in the summer.”

According to Walker, vendors will have jewelry, crochet items, vinyl, re-purposed vintage, cedar items, soap and baby products. As for the direct sale list, it includes hair care products from Monat, makeup from Younique, bags from Thirty-One and more.

Walker explained her daughter Emma was diagnosed with leukemia at 27 months and that was the catalyst for starting Emma’s Mouse Cure-teers.

Then, five months after her daughter finished with her treatment, Walker’s mother was diagnosed with breast cancer.

“I’m motivated because every day someone is diagnosed with cancer,” said Walker passionately. “Everywhere you turn someone new has it and it needs to stop.”

Now, Emma is 6 and has been in remission for two years. Walker said her mother is also involved with her fundraisers to generate money for a cure.
