A local man who led the law on a high-speed chase on a stolen motorcycle through two counties has been bound to the grand jury.
The suspect, Michael Scott Mosley, 28, was bound to the grand jury by Judge Bill Locke on charges of grand theft, evading arrest, reckless endangerment, driving without a license, running a traffic control device, speeding and improper passing.
The chase began after sheriff’s deputy Jared Jacobs saw Mosley traveling at a high rate of speed on West Green Hill Road. The chase was joined by the Highway Patrol, with the state trooper estimating Mosley was traveling 120 mph at one point on the motorcycle.
“I pursued the motorcycle for about 10 minutes into Cannon County before it wrecked,” Jacobs said. “During the pursuit, the motorcycle nearly struck a THP vehicle that assisted and also a vehicle on Cooper Highway.”
After Mosley crashed, it was determined he did not have a motorcycle license and the cycle was stolen out of Murfreesboro.
The chase is not the first for Mosley who entered a plea in late 2014 for leading lawmen on a high-speed chase on a four-wheeler. He was given probation for that incident.
