More delays have pushed back completion of Milner Recreation Center.
According to McMinnville city administrator Nolan Ming, completion may be closer to spring 2021 for the building itself and paving the front parking lot.
“I believe it will be roughly mid-February for substantial completion of the building,” said Ming.
When the project began in early 2019, its completion date was August 2020. Delays slowly pushed the date into December and then into 2021.
Paving is also on hold. Tinsley Asphalt was slated to renovate the front parking lot.
“The asphalt plant shut down this week until March, so we won’t be able to finish the paving until then,” said Ming.
Ambient temperature, ground temperature and moisture levels can negatively impact paving. Because of that, most paving companies shut down during winter months and reopen in the spring.
