The transformation taking place at Milner Recreation Center has received rave reviews.

Doug Milner was given a tour of the facility last Thursday by McMinnville Parks and Recreation director Scott McCord.

“It’s impressive,” said Milner during the visit. “It looks amazing. It definitely doesn’t look the same.”

After the tour, McCord asked, “Are you pleased?”

“I’m very pleased,” said Milner. “It’s wonderful.”

The visit was organized by Warren County Commissioner Robert Hennessee, who requested a tour and invited a friend – Milner.

“This renovation is going to open up a lot of opportunities that the facility never had before,” said Hennessee.

McCord included a “hidden gem” of the renovation.

“This is something I’ve wanted and the community needs,” he said. “I’m not sure many people know this was included in the plans. It’s a hidden gem, a banquet hall.”

The area has access to a kitchen. It has all the amenities necessary to host large events.

Also toured was the indoor tennis court.

“I’m going to step back and allow you to go into this area first,” said McCord.

Hennessee entered and pretended to echo, “This looks great … great, great. It’s enormous … enormous, enormous.”

Milner Recreation Center’s renovation and expansion completion date has been pushed back to Jan. 15.
