Craig Mears, who was driving the truck, pictured at right, that slammed head-on into an oncoming car on Nashville Highway, passed away at Erlanger nearly a month after the crash that claimed the life of the teen driver.
The driver who slammed head-on into an oncoming vehicle on Nashville Highway, killing one teen and leaving another critical, has died from his injuries nearly a month after the crash.The man, Craig Mears, 56, of Woodbury passed away at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga Saturday. He had been a patient there since the crash on the evening of June 25 that claimed the life of Promise Harrison, 16. Harrison’s passenger, Sadie Singleton, 14, is still a patient at Erlanger and is recovering from her injuries.Investigators say Mears was on the wrong side of four-lane Nashville Highway just past Crisp Springs Road when his 2005 Toyota Tacoma slammed head-on into the 2012 Nissan Versa driven by Harrison.
