A man took his own life after shooting his caregiver late Wednesday evening inside their Center Street home. The shooter, Gerald Medley, 87 died at the scene from a self-inflicted gun shot wound to the head. His victim, Melissa Foster, 52 remains under treatment at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga for gunshot wounds to the head and back.
