A man could face six years in prison after he allegedly pulled a gun on his own mother and threated her life when she wouldn’t give him money to leave town.
The man, Jeffery Bradley Green, 39, is charged with aggravated domestic assault which is a C felony punishable by three to six years in the state penitentiary. He will appear for arraignment before General Sessions Judge Bill Locke this Tuesday.
According to McMinnville Police Lt. Mark Mara, when he responded to a call on Havron Street he was told by Green’s mother her son had entered her home demanding money.
“He demanded she give him $1,500 so he could leave town,” the warrant reads, adding his mother refused to give him the money which prompted him to take further action. “He pulled a handgun stating he was going to kill her.”
After enduring continued threats and insults, the mother reportedly called 911 and her son left the residence, taking the handgun with him.
“She was in fear of her son and prior to the incident had taken out an order of protection on him,” the warrant claims, noting the order had not been served at the time of the alleged crime.
Green was taken into custody at another location where he was found hiding inside a house.
