A man faces charges after he tried to shake pursuing officers by running into a local nightspot.The suspect, Wesley P. Scott, 28, already had probation violation warrants against him from Cannon County when he decided to flee police during a traffic stop. He now faces additional charges of evading arrest and reckless endangerment.“I observed a 2000 Chrysler Town and Country driving at a slow rate of speed,” said police officer Katelyn Neal of the incident that began around 2 a.m. “I believed the driver was possibly drunk driving.”Neal said she tried to pull him over but the driver hit the gas and raced through Plaza Shopping Center’s parking lot. “He took off at a high rate of speed, endangering the safety of his passenger and the public.”During the chase, the van received a flat tire.
